Recycled Silver + Gem Minerals 2013-2014
I am a born and raised mid-westerner. I have always been surrounded by the flat rural landscape abundant with space and patina; generations of work and growth are planted here. Working in the scale of jewelry allows me to craft intimate works about my surroundings. Divisions of land become visible through thinly folded, recycled silver; a dialog emerges between the plots and minerals. Pieces become a a memento, a glimpse of land to wear. It is my intent to ask the wearer and the observer to converse about the abundance surrounding us and to take time to notice, reflect, and breathe.
