Landscape In Line 2013-2015
I was born and raised in the middle of the United States, and I choose to remain where generations have worked and planted and harvested. A desire for connection lead me to knitting. My mother is an avid knitter. I wanted to sit, observe and learn from her. Pattern, rhythm, order, contrast, two simple stitches create fabric; divisions of land become visible through the quiet act of forming a knit and purl stitch in fine leather. Forged and fabricated traditional Goldsmithing processes and precious materials are integral to my practice as a maker. Luxury of freedom and vast space characterizes us to the rest of the world. Using perceived materials of luxury, I question the affluence of abundance through the fabric of our landscape.
